Dali is where I am based, since the opening of the high-speed train and new airport, Dali has become much more touristy compared to 15 years ago, main attractions are often crowded. However, there are still authentic routes and ways to avoid the crowds. Contact me if you need help optimizing your visit.

大理八个冷门村落
1. 诺邓古村
深山里的白族古村，村庄依山而建，台阶和石板路交错，运输靠骡子。完整保存着明清时期的古盐井、玉皇阁等古建。

4. 云南驿
“云南”地名的起源地，丝绸之路和茶马古道的重要驿站，西汉时设县。
5. 东莲花村
古老的回族村落，保留土木结构的清真寺，马帮博物馆。
6. 凤羽
藏在峡谷里的古镇，徐霞客笔下的“桃花源”，保留元代的火葬墓群，以及明清时期的文武庙、佛塔、观群等。
7. 永平花桥村
汉武帝在张骞出使西域发现的“蜀身毒道”基础上，开通建设“南方丝绸之路”上的博南古道。
8. 喜洲
南诏时的军事重镇和商业中心，保留大量盐商大宅 | 2020年起，不再冷门

炸小鱼 deep fried little fish from the lake
银鱼煎蛋 omlette with silver fish
香茅草烤鱼 grilled fish with lemongrass and chillies
炸排骨 deep fried pork ribs
腊肉 local cured meats
酸木瓜鸡/鱼 chicken or fish cooked with local sour papaya like fruit
生皮 pork sashimi (yes, pork sashimi! it's a very local dish, served on big celebrations. Do look for restaurants specified in this dish, proper handling is absolutely non-negotiable. But most importantly, the dipping sauce is the soul of the dish)
