山顶上布满中世纪时期辉煌的小镇，石墙上嵌着当年使用率极高的火把栏和马车环。早晚巷子里满满的燕子声；唱诵声结束不久，巷子充满周日家庭聚餐的碗碟声，婴儿哭声，电视节目，流行音乐；风车茉莉的淡香飘进巷子，最暧昧的，是阴暗楼道里散发出的墙土味。
落日前苏菲独自坐在报纸前，清晰的皱纹，少女的轮廓, 是我想象中科恩笔下Lady Midnight的样子。她讲起亚洲，我说，帕斯帕提是我前半生的一扇门，出来之后，我的认知不再如往。她说，我的是恒河边。
